We can list the documents we provide but that list doesn’t convey the value of working with us because the value is how those documents are chosen and customized just for you and your family and the strategy sessions dedicated to exploring the practical reality of how things will play out.

It’s like the difference between going to home depot after watching a youtube video and buying parts, then going home and attempting a home-fix-it job that fails in the end. While TV shows like “Nailed It” featuring hilarious ways people fail at baking may be funny to watch, but messes left by those called to heaven are rarely funny and almost never enjoyable.

These letters help to give the client the chance to clear up any false assumptions and bring a sense of closure.

With us, you can describe all of those unique and wonderful people and complexities in your family and your life and explain the way you want to include or exclude them from your life or benefits after your life is through. We’re about taking care of you and setting you up so that your wishes come true in the way you intended. And it doesn’t matter how much you have.

We plan because of the people in our life that we love and care about and sometimes because of the people in our life that we don’t love.

The state of Georgia has a plan for us if we procrastinate. You must take action to control the outcome after you pass – to control how you’re remembered by the ones you love. Creating a plan is one way we tell the ones we leave behind how much we love them.

Maya Angelou said,

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

We believe that people who truly love others also care about how their loved ones feel after they depart this life. When you care about your loved ones, you make a plan and take action with intention and by design to make sure that life after you still carries evidence of you – your values, your mark, and your memory. What do you value? 

Will those values be seen in the plans you made – both during your lifetime and after you die – for the ones you love?

Suraya Govender

Client Happiness Coordinator

Suraya Govender, Client Happiness Coordinator at Wilson Legal, manages HR functions, billing, administration, and client relations while also conducting intake and training for new staff. As a devoted mother of two, she strives to set a positive example personally and professionally. Suraya finds fulfillment in contributing to client protection and takes pride in making a meaningful difference. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (Psychology), she empathetically addresses client needs. In her leisure time, Suraya explores markets, enjoys diverse cuisines, and values moments with her family, especially when paired with coffee and donuts.

Katherine Wheat

Associate Attorney

Katherine M. Wheat, specializes in Estate Planning, Wills, and Trusts. She joined Wilson Legal in 2022, and is also assisting with Probate, Conservatorship, and Guardianship, leveraging her experience to assist in business succession and ownership transfers. She is a Cum Laude graduate from Michigan State University College of Law, was admitted to the Georgia Bar and certified as a Mediator in 2013. With a background contributing to best-selling books, she practiced civil litigation for nine years before expanding into contract and elder law.

Juan Miguel Alberto

Drafting Assistant  

Juan Miguel V. Alberto VI, known as “Mikey,” serves as the drafting assistant and legal researcher at Wilson Legal, PC. A graduate of the University of the Cordilleras College of Law with a background in Psychology, Mikey worked as a paralegal in criminal law before joining Wilson Legal in 2020. His role involves drafting estate planning documents and assisting in probate matters. Outside work, Mikey is a blues/jazz guitarist, weightlifter, and dedicated to his faith, ministering with his wife, Ashley. He values growth and contributing to Wilson Legal’s mission to ease clients’ lives.

Pat Ford, originally from Buffalo, NY, has lived in Atlanta for 30 years. A SUNY Buffalo graduate, Pat retired from CDC in 2006 after 8 years. Now enjoying retirement, Pat is active in volunteer work within the Cumming community, her church, and assists with elections. Pat joined Wilson Legal, enjoying the personal interaction and opportunity to support the team as a people-oriented individual.
